 Summer Ballet Syllabus

Your large photo goes hereThis comprehensive summer ballet syllabus will introduce students to the theatrical dance of Classical Ballet. This curriculum is designed to be used in addition to your regular ballet class. This will give teachers the tools needed to offer a fun and creative alternative to the regular summer ballet workshops. The summer ballet syllabus has been developed for ages 3-10.

This package includes 5 themed courses that  emphasize creative expression, ballet history, vocabulary, nutrition, music, anatomy, and movement concepts all with a structured outline. Each course also includes material for arts and crafts, puzzles, worksheets, diagrams, coloring pages, a story synopsis for each theme, video reference (video not included), ballet facts and pantomime. Each syllabus includes specific teachers notes to ensure that each student is learning what is correct and appropriate for their age and class level. Teachers will have plenty of material to pull from and will be able to keep students attention through each course.

Each summer ballet syllabus is broken down into a 4-5 day workshop per level. Teachers can schedule these class times to 1-2 hours per day per level.

Example: Ages 3-4 - 1 hr
                Ages 4-5 - 1 hr
                Ages 5-6 - 1 hr. and 15 min
                Ages 6-7 - 1 hr. and 30 min
                Ages 8-10 - 2 hr

Students learn the story and history of each ballet. They understand all the elements and people it takes to create a Classical Ballet. They will learn how the body works and the importance of being a healthy dancer.

*This summer ballet syllabus is meant to help teachers be creative and should be used to devise the most constructive class that will enhance each students dance experience. It should not be a substitution for the teachers own creativity, but rather a source of inspiration.
